Anybody more familiar with Fanini?
I´ve been told Fanini to be one of the oldest racing teams in Italy. They spend the great Giro d´Italia and were glad to come up more than one times with the winning rider in this event. Until 1975 - Mr. Emilio Bozzi was assassinated by the radical Italian Red Guard party and therafter the Bozzi family sold the company to Piaggio - Fanini got their frames officially from Legnano.
And of course there was an amateur racing team with Fanini, collecting the riders from the group of their team supporters. These amateur cycling team was called Scuderia dilletanti di Fanini and ordered in about 1969 some bikes from Fanini. The shown Fanini is one of this few.
I´ve got it from an other collector, who aquired it directly from the first owner in Italy. It is equipped with the following components:
Bottom Braket: Gnutti
Headset: Gnutti, pantographed with Legnano
Crankset: Ofmega pantographed with Legnano
Front Derailleur: Campagnolo Extra Valentino
Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo Extra Valentino
Gear Levers: Campagnolo Extra Valentino
Brake Levers: Universal
Brakes: Universal Extra
Wheelset: Gnutti hubs, marked Legnano with Nisi rims
Freewheel: Regina Extra 5-speed
Saddle: Very Best, Croupon leather
Seatpost: Kalloy
Stem: 3ttt Record Strada
Handlebar: 3ttt
Frame tubing: Falck
Fork tubing: Falck
I am selling a Fanini bike with Campagnolo parts. It's 12-speed. Do you any suggestion where I can post it? It was bought in the 90's.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you can also give me some idea about the market rate for such old signature bikes.
