1987 - Steel is out, Carbon in - Giant Cadex 980c

Giant Manufacturing Co. Ltd. was founded in 1972 in Dajia, Taiwan, conquered taiwanese market shares very early and beccame the greatest manufacturer of that country in 1980. Since 1984 they experimented offensive with carbon fibre and expanded their portfolio consistently towards Mountain Bikes and all other types of bicycles too.  Their very early carbon fibre racing frames were made very similar to the alooy ones made by french company LOOK from a carbon pipe system with dural bushings and an alloy fork.

Today Giant is one of the greatest bicycle manufacturers world wide and many bicycles and lightweight produced by them are rebadged with traditional and famous brand names only.

This very early CADEX 980c I got as a frame set only.
